How to be more efficient in swimming?

Position the body well

A very common mistake that often occurs to many swimmers is to train with your head held high. Training with the head very high leads to lowering the legs and trunk, causing the resistance to progress to be greater.

To avoid this common mistake, it is recommended to train with your head down and only pull it out in diagonal movements to breathe. This will make our legs and hips automatically rise to the surface, offering us less resistance to progress, making us more efficient.

Make a good support

Not performing a good support technique can limit us in our work. For this, it is extremely important to work on the perception and sensitivity of the hand in different supports and underwater trajectories.

If the hand is not well supported, it descends and allows the elbow to drop, breaking the correct position of the arm, making our stroke less efficient and much slower. It is important to know where and how to support us.

Your hips must make rollers

It is a rotation movement, which our hips must perform every time we go swimming or practicing, since it will allow us to slide our body to a smaller surface and will help us lengthen the stroke. With this we will obtain greater speed, making us more efficient.

Symmetry in swimming

It is common to see how one of the hands enters too open or more crossed compared to the other and we can even see how one member exerts more pressure on the water than the other. To correct this problem, both muscles must be worked equally, in this way we strengthen the weak part.

It is not strictly necessary that you wear competition swimsuits, but it has been shown that it is a fundamental piece to improve your times when competing.
